Prior to setting sail on the river, though, take a cablecar ride over the region’s vineyards, and end up at the Niederwald Monument (aka Niederwalddenkmal). Once on the Viking Danube, a boat apart of the Viking River Cruise Company, riverside villages, towns, castles, and historic sites that overlook the mighty river.
